Young People's ProgrammeBoy in Science Lab

The British Science Festival is Europe’s largest celebration of science, technology and engineering.  Each year it takes place in a different area in the UK.  This year it will be visiting Birmingham in the Heart of England.

Taking part in the Young People's programme offers a rare opportunity for students to experience workshops, shows and talks to complement the STEM curriculum, delivered by the best that the UK has to offer.

Here at Thinktank we are delighted to have been appointed as co-ordinators for this year’s British Science festival and we will be offering a jam packed Young People’s programme.

The programme of events for Key stage 2 and 3 will:

• Offer workshops and shows that complement the STEM curriculum

• Enthuse and inspire young people with the excitement of science, engineering and technology

The Programme of events for Key Stages 4 and 5 will:

• Give young people the opportunity to interact with working researchers

• Enable teenagers to find out about careers in science

• Encourage them to think about and discuss social, moral and ethical issues behold scientific research

• Provide an opportunity to learn about cutting edge technologies.

Students and teachers will enjoy a whole day of fascinating workshops, spectacular science shows and hands on fun.
