Opening Times

Thinktank is open from 10am - 5pm 7 days a week, except 24, 25, 26 December, with last admission at 4pm.

Please allow 2 - 4 hours for your visit to Thinktank and 25 minutes for a Planetarium show. Cinema films vary from 40 mins to 120 mins.  Check schedule for details. Tickets are valid only on the day of purchase and can be used to re-enter Thinktank throughout the day.

How to Get Here

By Car

Thinktank, Birmingham science museum is situated within Millennium Point and located in Digbeth, between Curzon Street (B4132) & Jennens Road (A47),  minutes from Birmingham city centre and The Bullring. It is clearly signposted from all main routes into the city - simply follow the brown tourist signs. The nearest motorways are the M6, M5 and M42.

Birmingham City Council multi-storey car park is situated next to Millennium Point (charges apply) and the entrance is situated off Jennens Road. For sat nav use postcode B4 7AP.

The multi-storey car park has a height restriction of 2.1m (6'10"). If you have special vehicle access requirements, call our Box Office on 0121 202 2222 before your visit.

Please note - Birmingham City Council multi-storey car park accepts only cash payments. An HSBC cash point is situated on Level 0 within Millennium Point.


By Rail

The nearest train station is Moor Street station (10 mins walk away) and then New Street Station (15 mins walk away). Snowhill station is also close by (15 mins walk away).

By Foot

Thinktank is less than a 10 minute walk from moor street station.

 

  • From Moor Street Station, Walk ahead to the end of Moor Street Ringway.

  • Cross over onto Jennens Road.

  • Walk past Matthew Boulton College on the left, and keep walking until you come to the pedestrian crossing (outside Aston University building).

  • On the right, you will see a Multi-Storey Car Park and Millennium Point.

  • Head towards Millennium Point, Thinktank is located here.


By Bus

From the City Centre to Millennium Point entrance on Jennens Road  catch numbers 14, 55 or 94 from Lower Bull Street (Stops DB/DC/DE).

From St Martin’s Queensway (outside of New Street Rail Station) catch numbers 82/87 (stop VA), numbers 45/47 (stop VB), or numbers 61/63 (stop VC) one stop to The Priory Queensway, from where it is a 5 minute walk to Millennium Point via Masshouse Lane and Albert Street

Travel to Thinktank by Train or Bus and Save!

If you visit us by train or bus with London Midland, Network West Midlands, Arriva or National Express, present your travel ticket with a completed discount voucher (voucher available through travel provider only) at the Thinktank Box Office to save on ticket prices.

Discount only available on presentation of a valid travel ticket PLUS completed discount voucher, which must be presented to Thinktank Box Office Staff.
