Meet the Expert

	Have you ever wondered what scientists actually do? Come and meet real research scientists for a fun and exciting day. Talk to them about anything you want and find out what it is really like to work in a lab. See some of their equipment and maybe even have a go at some of their techniques!
	Monday 27 May - University of Birmingham Join the team from the School of Psychology to explore the human mind. Find out how they learn what is going on inside your head and if you have young children, take part in their experiments as part of their research project. We Made It, Level 1 - 11.00am to 4.00pm
	Tuesday 28 May - The Pen Room Meet the team from the Pen Room to learn all about Birmingham’s pen producing past! Handle some historic specimens and try out dip pens for yourself! We Made It, Level 1 - 11.00am to 4.00pm
	Wednesday 29 May - Institute for Creative Leather Technology From Hide to High Street - we all own shoes, bags, clothes and sofas… but what material can they all be made from? LEATHER! Visit our drop-in stand or come along to an interactive, hands-on workshop to find out all you need to know about leather, its manufacture, its applications and how we apply science to the process. We will show how you could be more sustainable and meet a polar scientist and ask questions about their research and what it is like working at the ends of the earth... Talking Point, Level 3 - 11.00am to 4.00pm

Every day during weekends and school holidays, our enthusiastic team of Gallery Enablers will lead one of our interactive object handling sessions.
